Filmmaker Wesley Wang is taking his award-winning animated short in a bold new direction. After winning at the Tribeca Festival, Wang has shared exclusive details about his plan to adapt the violent bunny story into a full 3D first-person shooter video game. The game, which he describes as a wild and chaotic experience, will feature carrot loot as a core gameplay mechanic.
Wang's original short film shocked audiences with its blend of cute animation and brutal violence. Now, he wants to let players step into the furry feet of the protagonist. Instead of just watching the carnage, players will control the bunny as it hops through destructible environments, blasting enemies with an arsenal of absurd weapons. The carrot loot system is not just a joke. Wang explained that carrots will serve as both health pickups and currency, allowing players to upgrade their gear or unlock new, even more ridiculous weapons.
The transition from film to game is a natural one for Wang, who has always been fascinated by interactive storytelling. He wants the game to capture the same frantic energy and dark humor of the short. While no release date has been set, Wang is currently building a small team to bring the project to life. He promises that the game will stay true to the short's core identity: cute characters doing extremely violent things.
