Disney, Epic Games Partner on Star Wars Game Connecting Theme Parks

The line between virtual worlds and physical theme park experiences is getting thinner. Disney has announced a new collaboration with Epic Games that ties its Star Wars attractions directly into the Fortnite universe. Guests who ride Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run at Disneyland or Walt Disney World will soon be able to accept a special mission inside the ride itself. Completing that mission will unlock rewards in a dedicated Star Wars mode within Fortnite.

This is not just a simple code giveaway. The integration is designed to feel like a continuous story. While piloting the Falcon, players will receive a transmission that carries over to their Fortnite account. The rewards include exclusive character skins, ship decals, and in-game items that reference the ride's specific locations, like the Black Spire Outpost on Batuu. Disney says this is the first step in a larger plan to connect its physical attractions with interactive digital experiences.

The move follows the broader partnership between Disney and Epic announced last year, which involved a multi-year investment and plans for a persistent, open-world experience tied to Disney properties. For now, the focus is on making the theme park visit feel more meaningful for gamers. A Disney spokesperson noted that the goal is to give fans a reason to engage with both the ride and the game in a way that feels natural, not forced. The feature is expected to roll out in phases, starting with the Orlando location before reaching Anaheim. No additional theme park attractions have been confirmed for similar integrations yet, but the door is clearly open.
