Toys for Bob has confirmed that the next installment in the Spyro franchise, titled "A Realm Beyond," will launch in spring 2027. This marks the first brand-new mainline entry for the purple dragon in nearly two decades, following the 2008 release of "The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon."

The studio, known for its recent work on the "Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time" and the "Spyro Reignited Trilogy," is developing the title as an independent studio after splitting from Activision in early 2024. According to a brief statement from the developer, "A Realm Beyond" will return to the classic platforming and exploration roots that defined the original Insomniac Games trilogy on the PlayStation. The team emphasized that the game is built from the ground up for modern hardware, promising a vibrant world filled with new characters, collectible gems, and the signature flight-based levels fans expect.

While specific gameplay details remain under wraps, Toys for Bob confirmed that the title will feature a fully original story, not a remake or remaster.
