No More App Switching: Amazon Adds Luna Games to Prime Video

Amazon is making it easier to jump into its cloud gaming service without leaving the Prime Video app. Starting now, Fire TV users in the United States and the United Kingdom can launch Luna games directly from the Prime Video interface. The move removes the need to close one app and open another, a small but meaningful change for anyone who uses both services regularly.

The integration works by adding a dedicated games row inside Prime Video. When a user selects a Luna title, the system loads the game without switching apps. This is the first time Amazon has merged its streaming video and cloud gaming experiences in this way. The rollout is limited to Fire TV devices for now, but it suggests Amazon sees Prime Video as a hub for more than just movies and TV shows.

Luna has been available since 2022, competing with services like Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now. By placing it inside Prime Video, Amazon gives Luna a more prominent spot in its ecosystem. For Prime members who already use Prime Video, the change could make Luna feel like a natural extension of their subscription rather than a separate product. The company has not announced plans to bring the feature to other platforms yet.
