‘Lego Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight’ Sets A Switch 2 Release Date

The Caped Crusader is trading Gotham's rooftops for Nintendo's next-generation hardware. Warner Bros. Games and TT Games have officially confirmed that "Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight" will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 27, 2025. The announcement arrives just weeks before Nintendo plans to raise the console's retail price in several regions, making the release a key test for the system's early library.

This new title is not a direct port of the original Lego Batman trilogy. Instead, it compiles the best levels from all three previous games, rebuilt from the ground up using the updated Lego engine that powered "Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga." Players can expect a seamless open-world Gotham City, improved combat mechanics, and a story that spans Batman's early days fighting the Joker all the way through to the darker events of "The Dark Knight Returns" storyline.

The Switch 2 version will also include exclusive features. A new "Dual-Gadget" system lets players use the console's enhanced Joy-Con controllers to independently aim the Batarang while grappling across buildings. Local co-op has been upgraded to support four players simultaneously, a first for the Lego Batman series.

Pre-orders opened today, with a special "Bat-Signal Edition" that includes a steelbook case and a mini-figure of Batman in his armored suit from "Batman v Superman." The standard digital version will cost $59.99, while the physical deluxe edition runs $79.99. Given the upcoming price hike for the Switch 2 hardware, early adopters may want to lock in their console pre-orders before the June launch window closes.
